The Iron Age - the Roman empire
The rise of the Christian religion was linked to the Roman empire and its culture (after about 300 years). The Roman culture, which was stricken with the love of dominating other cultures, took on the Christian doctrines. These doctrines were modified to the advantage of those in power. As a result, the history of Christianity is full of conquest and dominance.
But this does not change the central Divine Story. After the appearance of God in the Flesh, the world was not immediately ready to hear the deeper truths about Heaven. The understanding of spiritual things was almost completely gone and mankind had to continue its development before it was capable of understanding more. In addition, the divisions and hatreds among the people of the world were too deep and would take centuries to work out.
The Christian holy book (the Bible) carried on the Divine Story; explaining how God came in the flesh and regarding the new ideals that were presented. It also contained prophetic information that another visitation would be necessary. Although the reasons were unknown during the Lord's time, this second visit would be required to reorder all the misconceptions which humanity would develop over the Christian period. The thirst for dominance under the Christian name was so deeply implanted that everything in its path would be grabbed up and used for improper reasons - including the doctrines of the churches.
The Divine Story contained in the Bible used the Jewish books as the introduction to the birth of God. These books, in every word, explain the spiritual world and the purpose of Creation. The correspondence used in the early writings of mankind were also applied in the writings of the Christian New Testament. Within the stories of Jesus, the Divine Story continued by exposing an even purer body of knowledge regarding God. And finally in the apocalypse, the close of the Story was foretold.
Although the holy books of other religions are Divine teachings, the body of teaching contained in the Christian Bible presents the most direct image of God.
In the beginning was the WORD, and the WORD was with GOD, and the WORD was GOD.
The same was in the beginning with GOD.
All things were made by Him; and without Him was not any thing made that was made.
In Him was Life; and the Life was the Light of men.
And the Light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not....
...And the WORD was made flesh, and dwelt among us..." - John 1:1-14
The WORD is Divine Truth manifest to us. It could be said that the Word of God, correctly understood, is "God with us". It is this concept which led early man to revere their holy documents. They understood the power behind this form of truth. And it will be these holy documents that lead us into our new future.
This brings us to the Eighteenth Century, when the Last Judgement took place and the New Golden Age began.
