Editor's Notes:The following essay by John Bigelow (see below) is from a book on Toleration, and other essays and studies, published posthumously in 1927 by the New Church Board of Publication.
"With what judgement do we judge one another?" asks Mr. Bigelow. Even though his writings are from a hundred years ago, their subject is timeless. Toleration and a common value system are essential goals of a progressive culture. Sometimes we stall in our quest for this goal and have to be reinspired to resume our work. This is one of those inspirations.
